Faye Virginia (Coble) Gockley

Faye Virginia Gockley, 92, daughter of James and Retta (Ellis) Coble, was born on May 22, 1921 near Bado, Missouri.  She departed this life on Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Houston, Missouri.

She was united in marriage to Iris Gockley on May 8, 1946, and to this union two sons were born, Bennie Jo and Wayne Eugene.  Following their marriage they resided on a farm near Fairview, Missouri, where they farmed and raised their family.

Faye was an active member of Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church until she relocated to Cabool, Missouri, in 2004, where she was welcomed by Victory Worship Church.  In addition to her passionate devotion to God, she enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, fishing, reading, playing Rummikub, quilting and spending time with her family and many friends.  She adored children of all ages and was known for her exceptional cooking and baking skills and her contagious laughter, which was often heard while she was sharing a joke or relating a funny story.

 Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Iris; five brothers, Lester, Virgil, Lee, Ernie and Walter; and four sisters, Alta Sutton, Opal Wallace, Ermal Clark, and Edith Gockley.

 She is survived by her sons, Bennie Gockley and wife Vickie of Joseph, Oregon, and Wayne Gockley and wife Janice of Cabool; twelve grandchildren, Bennie, Brad, Nancy, Ramona, Clifton, Keith, Stephanie, Jeana, Katrina, Brian, Russell and Nicole; fifteen great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church with Junior Hutsell and Bill Kelley officiating.  Pallbearers will be Bennie Hume, Brad Hume, Montie Friend, Brandon Coble, Everett Leighty and Dennis Skaggs.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Dennis Shelley.  Interment will be in Bado Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.  Online condolences may be made at
