Mr. Jackie “Jack” Means, 72, of Willow Springs, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014, at Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs, Missouri, after a battle with cancer.
He was born on February 26, 1941 in Cabool, Missouri, the son of Otho and Katie (Walls) Means.
Jack was baptized at the age of 13 and held a strong faith in God throughout his lifetime. He was united in marriage to Shirley McNew on May 14, 1960. He worked in management for 18 years at Fab in Mtn. View and was a pastor and ordained minister. Jack loved his family and friends dearly and he enjoyed spending time outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Means of the home; his son, Michael Means; a grandson, Zach Means; a granddaughter, Christina Means; a great-grandson, Elijah Means; two brothers, Tom and Leonard Means; his sister, Sharon Collins; as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014, at the funeral chapel with Pastor David Lovan officiating. Interment will be in Oak Dale Cemetery near Solo, Missouri, under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool. Online condolences may be made at www.egcfuneralhome.com.
