Memorial services for Sherry Drucille Anstine, 78, West Plains, Missouri, were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at the Community Room, Walnut Grove Apartments, West Plains.
Mrs. Anstine died at 11:35 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2014, at West Vue Nursing Center. She was born October 11, 1935 at Bradshaw, Nebraska, to Robert and Elsie Gifford Adams.
Sherry was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She always worked hard, loved farming and riding the tractor. She loved to play her guitar and sing with her sister, Marilynne. For many years, she worked at the Corner Café in Cabool, Missouri, beginning as a cook and eventually becoming the owner. She was well known for her down-home cooking and her wonderful homemade bread, cinnamon rolls and pies. She was very proud of and loved to research and study the family’s military service and history. Sherry was a member of Lifeline Church in West Plains and was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by four children, Michael Anstine, Kathy Cooper, Desirae Norton and husband Jack, and Jennifer Swanson and husband Brad; her grandchildren, Jacqui Moore, Robert Moore, Nuphet Insixiengmay, Michael Anstine, Jr., Daniel Ekelenburg, Jennifer Ekelenburg, Jacob Ekelenburg, Ryan Cooper, Travis Cooper, Michael Norton, Daniel Norton, Jonathon Norton, Kristy Norton, Chelsea Norton, Kasie Swanson and Paige Swanson; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Adams and wife Nancy, and Bill Adams and wife Donna; one sister, Janet Aaron; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents; two daughters, Barbara Moore and Debra Rosiu; one grandson, Trevor Cooper; one brother, Tom Adams; two sisters, Phyllis Schall and Marilynne Schallenburg; and one sister-in-law, Donna Adams, preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to Howell County Relay for Life and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
