Fay L. Cox, age 93, of St. Louis County, Missouri, died on Wednesday, December 4, 2013.
She was born on October 5, 1920 in Cabool, Missouri, to John Henry and Allie Durnell Ray.
She accepted Jesus as her Savior at Pine Flat Church in Cabool. While living in St. Louis, she was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church.
She was a homemaker until her children were grown. Then she went to work for Pattonville School District and retired in 1981. She loved to travel, shop, sew, make jelly and pickles, and spend time with her family.
She was the beloved wife for 58 years of the late Raymond J. Cox; dearest mother of Lois (late Orville “Red”) Bates, Doris (Bill) Volle and the late Roland Cox; loving grandmother of Pamela (Terry) Light, Jeffery, Danny, Angie and Eddie (Theresa) Bates, Rick (Brenda) Rodewald, Kim Shipley, Mandy and Kevin Cox, Jason (Jennifer) Volle and Shelly (Rick) Watkins and the late Keith Bates and Vicky Rodewald; dear great-grandmother of 19 and great-great-grandmother; dear sister of Paul (late Nita) Ray and the late Fern (late Bob) Allison; dear aunt, cousin and friend.
Her funeral service was held at Shepard Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 9, at 1:30 p.m. Burial was at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Pagedale, Missouri.
