Larry Dean Evans was born February 27, 1967. He lived 46 years, eight months and three days on this earth before going to be with his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on October 29, 2013. He passed away at his home in Cabool, Missouri.
His funeral service will be Friday, November 8, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at Maness Memorial Church in Cabool.
“May we learn to practice love and compassion toward all and especially those that have had much rejection, abandonment and heartache in their lives. There will be a reading of his eulogy and maybe even some portions of his letters he had written and entrusted with those that love him,” a friend said. “Hope to see you there to the Glory of God.”
Following is a poem written by Larry Evans.
As I looked upon the stars,
It led me to ponder about my scars.
I know there are ones that hasn’t any,
But I see those that have so many.
Particular scars come to my eyes
As I sit and ponder the skies.
My Lord and Savior I know died for me,
And shows me favor because He did see
The shameful behaviors that would become me.
I praise the Lord and love Him dearly,
I pray for those who won’t call Him near thee.
There is a reason one may have these scars,
But there is One who can cast them afar.
We need only to look
‘Cause it is written in the Great Book.
The earth will burn and it will quake,
But as we call on the Lord, these scars He will take.
