Patricia Louise Gordon

Patricia Louise Gordon, daughter of the late Lew and Thelma (Hinton) Gordon, was born on December 16, 1935, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life on December 21, 2013, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri. She was 78 years and 5 days of age.

Patricia grew up in the Mountain Grove area. She worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service in Springfield, Missouri, for over 20 years. She retired from the Postal Service in 2000 and moved back to Mountain Grove and built a new home. She drove a school bus for about five years for Mountain Grove Schools. Patricia enjoyed fishing, dancing, and spending time with her friends talking, playing cards, and shooting pool at Mountain Grove Senior Center. She also loved spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Rex Letterman, and three sisters, Peggy Crandall, Ida Thomas, and Vivian Jean Ludolph.

Patricia is survived by one son; one brother, Gary Gordon and wife Sue of Batesville, Arkansas, formerly of Cabool, Missouri; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Pastor Charles Wiles officiating. Pallbearers were Ross Clark, Al Foster, Leon Top, Randy Collins, Braden Bruce and Steve Foster. Song selections were “How Great Thou Art” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus.” Burial was in Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove.
