Tristan Michael Durham, age 16, son of Kevin and Delilah Jean “Jeanie” (Bilderback) Durham, was born July 23, 1997 in Rolla, Missouri. He passed away November 20, 2013 at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, Missouri, from injuries he suffered in a car accident.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, D’artangan Durham; his Grandma Sue Hodges; and his Grandpa Delmar Hale.
Tristan is survived by his parents, Kevin and Jeanie Durham of Houston; three sisters, Christina Campbell of Licking, Missouri, Tabitha Ford and husband Andrew of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Talissa Durham of Houston; grandparents C.L. and Liz Durham of Cabool, Missouri, Marvin and Brenda Bilderback of Rolla, and Linda Hale of Cabool; three very special nephews, Trenton Campbell, Hayden Topping and Kaiden Ford; five aunts, Missy Hale, Sheila Hunter, Stacy Stark, Barbara Visage and Sara Dodds; two uncles, Brent Durham and Greg Hale; and many friends.
Tristan was baptized by Jeff Moore and attended First Christian Church in Houston.
He was a fun loving, wisecracking, full of life and laughter kind of boy, who never met a stranger. He had many things he enjoyed doing; some of them include tae kwon do, deer hunting, float trips, video games, helping his dad do auto body on vehicles, and riding four-wheelers. He received numerous trophies at many four-wheeler competitions. Tristan was a former member of the high school choir and was working on dual credits for college. He just started working at Spring Garden, working after school and weekends. This summer Uncle Brent took him under his wing and was teaching him construction. Special days were birthdays when he always requested Mom’s homemade chicken and noodles.
Although his time on earth was cut short, he made a tremendous impact on many lives. He will be greatly missed.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Tristan Durham Memorial Fund, c/o Evans Funeral Home, in lieu of flowers.
Services were held Saturday November 23, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Houston High School gymnasium with Brother Don Elliott officiating. Pallbearers were Loren Pena, Aaron Davis, Shamion Visage, Forrest Nunnery, Adrianna Pena, Micheal Martindale, Trenton Neal and Braden Pena.
