Myrtle Nadine Curtner Woosley

Myrtle Nadine Curtner Woosley was born March 7, 1926 to Oliver and Thula Mae Carman Curtner. She passed away March 20, 2013 in Eureka, Missouri.

She and her sister, Norma, were raised on the family farm outside of Cabool, Missouri. The girls attended Freely Give School and Nadine was a 1944 graduate of Cabool High School.

During her junior year of high school Nadine went to Springfield, Missouri, for training as a medical transcriptionist. This is where she met her future husband, Waite Hoyt Woosley. Friends recalled seeing Nadine off on the train to Louisville, Kentucky, where they made their home. They had one son, David Hoyt Woosley.

Nadine retired from the state of Kentucky where she worked as a civil servant. She enjoyed antiquing with her husband and friends, spending time at church, and visiting her grandchildren, her mother and sister in Florida and her friends and family in Cabool. She will be missed by all that knew her and remembered for the love and laughter she brought to this world.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hoyt; her son, David; and two grandsons, Galien Elias and Elijah Don.

She is survived by seven grandchildren, Jeff, Greg, Lawton, Ahren, Galien, Elijah and Olivia Marie Woosley, and four great-grandchildren, Roman, Emerson, Cason and Lillian Woosley.

A private family memorial gathering is planned. Burial will be in Jarrett Cemetery.

Those wishing to honor Nadine’s memory are asked to donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
