Becky was born on November 8, 1948 in Norwood, Missouri, to Bertha and Glen “Duke” Schrouder. She graduated from Norwood High School in 1965.
She was united in marriage to Don W. Robertson and shared 40 years together before his passing in 2006. Together they shared a passion for children and fostered many children providing a stable, Christian environment while they were in their home. Many of those same children who called her “Mamma Becky” now have their kids call her “Grandma Becky.”
Becky owned and operated The Unique Beauty Salon for over 30 years and considered her work a ministry to share her faith in God to all of those who entered her shop. Becky enjoyed feeding her birds, being outside working in the yard and was the world’s greatest cook, according to friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents as well as three sisters, Eunice Strunk, Ruth Prock and Emma Frost.
Survivors include her sister, Jean Sexton and husband Jimmy of Lake Cormorant, Mississippi; sons John Collins and wife Edie of Springfield, Missouri, and Scott Robertson of Kansas City, Kansas; and two granddaughters, Jacey and Courtney Collins. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 9, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel with Ronnie Baker officiating. Pallbearers will be Melvin Frost, Austin Germer, Buster McNatt, Dale Rhoades, Mark Strunk and David Schilling. Interment will be in Oak Forest Cemetery near Norwood under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool, Missouri.
