She was born on July 9, 1915 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clarence and Nina (Trent) Taylor.
Florence was united in marriage to James Carl Brown on January 10, 1934, and to this union six children were born.
She was a longtime member of Cabool First Baptist Church. She moved from Cabool in July 1997 and became a resident of the Baptist Home in Ozark.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Carl Brown; and a daughter, Barbara Reavis.
She is survived by five children, Clarence E. Brown and wife Betty Rae of Detroit, Michigan, Nina Halbrook of St. Louis, Missouri, Lucile J. Sieving of Des Moines, Iowa, Roger Brown and wife Betty of Austin, Texas, and Donald Brown and wife Sherry of Leavenworth, Kansas; two brothers, William Taylor and wife Juanita of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and George Taylor and wife Betty of Cabool; a sister, Frances Davis of Ozark; a son-in-law, David Reavis of Lawrence, Kansas; 15 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Services were at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2012, at the funeral chapel with Rev. Tommy Harper officiating. Graveside services were at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012, at Park Lawn Cemetery in St. Louis, under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
