Joyce C. Loman Shelton

Joyce C. Loman Shelton, 70, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012.
She was born on January 1, 1942 at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, the beloved daughter of Francis Kent and Alice (Rossman) McReynolds.

Joyce was active in Missouri Council for the Blind (MCB), First United Methodist Church and Trinity Freewill Baptist Church. She also participated in many fundraisers over the years along with educating and sharing her knowledge about leader dogs as companions.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her dear sister, Jean (McReynolds) Jakoubek; and her longtime companions, her leader dogs, Rusty and Hattie.

She is survived by her husband, David Shelton; three children, Barbara Loman, Debra Lewis and husband Terry, and Kenneth Bess and wife Kay; her grandchildren, Steven and Jason Loman, Jeremy Mullins, Tim Lewis, Kristy Bess Crosby, Casey Bess, Tyler Bess and Tiffany Bess; great-grandchildren Brandon and Dominique Loman, Jack and Eliza Crosby, and Emma Rose; as well as many other blended family members and friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Services were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the funeral chapel with Donnie Wells officiating.

Interment was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
