Danace Vay (Steely) Phillips, 76, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012. at her home.
She was born August 18, 1935 in Cowell, Arkansas, the daughter of James A. and Lilly (Lambdin) Smith.
She was married to Raymond L. Steely, and to this union two sons were born, Raymond L. Steely and Bradley L. Steely. Danace was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her family.
Danace was preceded in death by her parents; the uncle and aunt who raised her, Lee and Laura Lambdin; her husband, Raymond Steely; her sister, Joyce Ellis; her brother, James Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Reilly Rouse.
She is survived by her sons, Raymond Steely of Albany, Georgia, and Brad Steely and wife Teresa of Cabool; her sisters, Anna Mae Sain of Cabool and Carol Lynch of Newark, California; as well as many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Services were at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cabool with Father Paul Wrightman officiating. Pallbearers were Jeremy Devoto, Davin Biram, Larry Pippin, Mark Decker, Randy Decker, Danny Dean and honorary pallbearer, J.E. Rich. Interment was in Steely Chapel Cemetery at Elk Creek, Missouri, under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
