Doril Deane Baker Evans of Cabool, Missouri, passed away on April 6, 2011 at the age of 82 years and ten months following a long illness.
She was born on June 4, 1928 in Belpre, Kansas, the oldest of six daughters of Ralph and Virginia (Dixon) Baker. As a young girl, Doril moved with her family from Belpre to the Willow Springs, Missouri, area where she attended school.
On December 9, 1947 she was united in marriage to Dean Raymond Evans. They made their home on a farm south of Cabool, Missouri, where she was a homemaker and mother of their six children, David, Clara, Donald, Mark, Cora and Michael.
She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers as long as her health allowed. She also enjoyed crochet, embroidery and reading, especially her Bible, which she read completely through each of the last fifteen years. Doril was saved at a young age and at the time of her passing she was a member of Cabool General Baptist Church.
Doril was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean; two sisters, Mary Cahill and Arden Brown; and one grandson, Justin Evans.
She is survived by her daughters, Clara of Scotland, Texas, and Cora of Jonesboro, Arkansas; her sons, David and wife Brenda of Electra, Texas, Donald and wife Shela of Cabool, and Mark and Michael of the home where they did an outstanding job tending their mother during her illness until her passing; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dorcia Wilson of Republic, Missouri, and Margie Brown and Ann Knaak of Cabool. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and love her.
Services were Saturday, April 9, 2011, in the funeral chapel with Pastor Scott Williamson officiating. Pallbearers were David, Don, Mark, Mike, Matt, Chris and David Evans. Interment was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
