Eddie Duane Frost, Sr.

Eddie Duane Frost, Sr., son of Edward and Mildred (Jones) Frost, was born on October 1, 1945 in Springfield, Missouri, and departed this life on August 18, 2011 in Five Rivers Hospital in Pocahontas, Arkansas, at 65 years of age.

Eddie grew up in the Willow Springs and Mtn. Grove, Missouri, communities. He graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1963.

He was united in marriage to Nancy (Loughridge) on May 10, 1964 in Solo, Missouri. Two children were born to this marriage.

Eddie was employed at Brown Shoe Company in Mtn. Grove and later in Pocahontas for 35 years, until they closed.

Eddie graduated with an associates degree from Black River College in Pocahontas.

He enjoyed reading, working on cars, fishing, stamp collecting, and anything he could do to help those around him. He always enjoyed a good trade.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Frost.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Frost of their home; one son, Eddie Frost Jr., and wife Donna of Cabool, Missouri; one daughter, Cheree McCormick and husband Everette of Cabool; his mother, Mildred Frost of Mtn. Grove; one brother, Melvin Frost and wife Barbara of Birch Tree, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Christy Sigman, Carla Beason, Trevor Sigman, Chasta McCormick, Curtis McCormick, Lacey McCormick, Tyler McCormick, Joseph Frost and Emily Frost; two great-grandchildren, Braden Sigman and Noah Beason; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 22, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in Craig-Hurtt Chapel in Mtn. Grove with Pastor Terry Miller officiating. Song selections were “I Can Only Imagine,” “With Him,” and “Save a Place for Me.” Pallbearers were Alvin Tooley, Rick Tooley, Levi Beason, T.J. Miller, Eddie Frost Jr., and Everette McCormick. Honorary pallbearers were Trevor Sigman, Melvin Frost Jr., Steven Frost, Ric Weise, Curtis McCormick, Wendell Collins, Don Newberry, Dale Rhodes and Larry Gayer. Burial was in Lone Star Cemetery, Mtn. Grove, under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove.
