Klair Emma “Skip” Savage, 88, of Lacon, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at 10:10 p.m. at her residence.
She was born on October 20, 1922 in Shannon County, Missouri, to the late Claude O. Margueritte (Peer) Bryan.
She married James M. Savage on May 13, 1939 in Houston, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Horton of Dunlap, Illinois, and Valerie Lord and husband Larry of Lacon; three brothers, Tom Bryan and wife Joyce of Lyle, Washington, Jack Bryan of Lyle, Washington, and Jake Bryan and wife Sue of Yakima, Washington; five sisters, Dorothy Baker of Hood River, Oregon; Dolly Campbell of Pasco, Washington, Wanda Little and husband Jack of Fruitland, Idaho, Judy Johnston of White Salmon, Washington, and Cheri Reese and husband Perry of Washington; a sister-in-law, Martha Bryan of White Salmon, Washington; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
She worked for many years as a checkout clerk at several Chillicothe, Illinois, grocery stores.
Visitation was held Wednesday, April 13, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. Her funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Lenz Memorial Home with Rev. Katherine Harding officiating. Graveside committal services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Bethel Cemetery in Elk Creek, Missouri, with Deacon J.E. Rich officiating.
