Leasha Charlene Collins of Willow Springs, Missouri, passed away on July 27, 2011 at the young age of 48.
She was born September 12, 1962, in Cabool, Missouri.
Leasha was raised in St. Louis and attended college at UMSL for two years before moving to the Willow Springs area where she acquired her teaching degree at SMSU-Springfield.? ?
Leasha was married to Teddy Collins on April 15, 1988. They have one son, Chance Wayne.
Leasha loved her family and all of her many kinds of animals, especially her horses. One of her passions was barrel racing, and she also team roped with Teddy and shod her own horses. Leasha loved to hunt wild mushrooms and enjoyed everything in nature. This made her one of the dynamic teachers at Richards School, where she taught science for sixteen years. She loved being a teacher and wanted to instill the love of learning in her students.
Leasha was preceded in death by Papa Jack and Granny Florence Turnbull and Grandpa Lester McClary.??
She is survived by her loving husband, Teddy, and her son, Chance, of the family home; her mother, Betty and husband Averill Carter; her mother- and father-in-law, Otis and Flossie Collins; a sister, Laura and her special friend, Jeff Frazier; a stepsister, Lynn and husband Benton; a brother-in-law, James and wife Cathy; Robbie and wife Shirley; and ten nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service was held on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Inman Cemetery with Pastor Edwin Woolsey officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Willow Funeral Home in Willow Springs.
