Ruby Joe Broyles, son of the late Freddie K. and Elizabeth (Long) Broyles, was born on August 1, 1943 in Rayborn, Missouri, and departed this life on April 26, 2011 in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was 67 years, eight months and 25 days of age.
Joe grew up and attended school in Wright County, Missouri. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when fishing, hunting and tending to his garden each year. He also liked to talk on his C.B. radio and he enjoyed playing pool.
Joe loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them and visiting with his friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ruby Joe Broyles, Jr., and one brother, Bobby Edward Broyles.
He is survived by two sons, Scotty Lee Broyles of Rolla, Missouri, and Darrel Wayne Broyles of Willow Springs, Missouri; two daughters, Sarah Marie Andrus and husband John of Kansas City, Missouri, and Crystal Kay Carson and husband Scotty of Cabool, Missouri; two brothers, Richard Leon Broyles of Cabool and Amos Howard Broyles of the State of California; two sisters, Alice Mae Crocker of Buffalo, Missouri, and Mary Elizabeth Mainues of Skyline, Missouri; two stepsisters: Dorethea Jean Jacobson of Buffalo and Marie Palkowitsh of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren: Samantha Gene Carson, Jacob Isaac Andrus, Chasity Marie Andrus, James Louis Andrus, II, and Grace Elizabeth Andrus; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Marty Walsh officiating. Song selections were “Go Rest High on That Mountain,” “When I Get Where I’m Going,” “Down to the River to Pray,” and “I’ll Fly Away.” Pallbearers were Darrel Broyles, Scotty Carson, Richard Broyles, Daniel Broyles, and Terry Strong. Burial was in Green Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
