Barbara Coble was born September 11, 1948 in Pawnee City, Nebraska, to Rex and Darlene (Kimes) Manley. She passed away February 19, 2011 after a long bout with cancer.
When she was 15 months old, her father died in an automobile accident.
In 1950 her mother married Orval Carmichael, who adopted her and loved her as his own. She always said Rex was her father, but Orval was her daddy.
In 1959 she moved to Missouri with her family where she attended high school and had many special friends. Later she married Tom Nelson and was blessed with three sons.
After her divorce she moved back to Cabool, Missouri, and later married Calvin Coble. They operated a dairy farm south of Cabool where the boys grew up.
Later she moved back to Pawnee City where she had many friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rex Manley, and a brother, Roger Carmichael.
She is survived by son Sean Nelson of Cabool; son Shane Nelson and wife Carrie and granddaughter Sophia of Ozark, Missouri; son Seth Nelson of Cabool and grandson Ryan Nelson of California; her parents, Orval and Darlene Carmichael of Cabool; her sister, Kim Meintjes and husband Greg of Key West, Florida; and special friend Bryan Ross of Pawnee City, Nebraska.
Memorial services will be held at Cabool Church of the Brethren Sunday afternoon, March 20, 2011, at 2:00 p.m.
