Eula Joan Hutcheson

Eula Joan Hutcheson, age 81, daughter of Lee and Dessie (Amick) Smith, was born July 19, 1929 at Cabool, Missouri. She entered into eternal life on November 8, 2010.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lee “Buck” Smith; two sisters, Euleen Walker and Eugenia Carter; her husband, Earl Hutcheson; a daughter, Peggy Galloway; infant twin sons; and a stepson, Nick Newman.

She is survived by her daughters, June Watts and husband Jim of Rogersville, Missouri, Jane Romines and husband Bob of Houston, Missouri, and Liz Lancaster and husband Jay of Theodosia, Missouri; one son, Jimmy Hutcheson of Huggins, Missouri; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Euhlan Smith of Elsinore, Utah.

Joan graduated from Houston High School in 1947. In the fall of that year she married Earl on November 6, 1947.

She worked on the family farm, for H & R Block, and at the Lee Company in the payroll department, retiring from there after 25 years.

When she was young she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined Union Baptist Church. After her marriage she and her family attended Fairview Pentecostal Church.

She enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and boating.

Services were at 10:00 a.m. Thursday November 11, 2010, at Fairview Pentecostal Church with Pastor Bill Villapiano officiating. Burial was in Bado Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home, Houston.
