Gary Dean Cooper

Mr. Gary Dean Cooper, 57, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away at his home on Friday, February 26, 2010.

He was born on September 23, 1952 near Cabool, the youngest child of Luther F. and Dola L. (McCart) Cooper. He was a lifelong Texas County resident.

Gary was involved in a tragic auto accident at the age of 16, which left him disabled. He maintained his resolve to regain much of his health and always maintained a positive attitude. He was a friend to those he met and never met a stranger. He loved all his young nieces and nephews, displaying their pictures and showing interest in their accomplishments.

Gary accepted Christ as a young man and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Cabool.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Becky M. (Hobbs) Cooper of the home; two brothers, Bill Cooper of Dora, Missouri, and Larry Cooper and wife Karen of Houston, Missouri; three sisters, Betty Burton and husband Bill of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Judi Lyons and husband Don of The Villages, Florida, and Shirley Downey and husband Bill of St. Clair, Missouri; an uncle, Delbert McCart of Willow Springs, Missouri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be dearly missed by family, friends and especially his best friend and wife, Becky.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 1, 2010, at the funeral home. Interment in Cabool Cemetery will be at a later date under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials to the Cabool High School Football Team.
