Harley Raymond Williams

Harley Raymond Williams, 70, Springfield, Missouri, passed away at 3:27 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, in St. John’s Hospital.

He was born July 7, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph Ezra and Irene Wilma Foreman Williams.

Ray attended Avant High School in Avant, Oklahoma, and lived in Tulsa until moving to Sarcoxie, Missouri, in 1971. He later moved to Cabool, Missouri, in 1981 and retired to Springfield six years ago. Ray was a plant manager of Wilbert Vault Company in Sarcoxie, Cabool and Ash Flat, Arkansas, retiring in 1991.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; a brother, Don Williams; and an infant brother, Joseph Williams.

Ray is survived by two sons, Harley and Erin Williams and Nathan Williams; three daughters, Diane Bird and Leon Loman, Vickie and Ivan Patton, and Laura and Tad Lawson; a brother, Steve and Debbie Williams; a sister, Staschia Williams; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010, in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with Pastor Gary Mitchener officiating. Burial followed at Clear Creek Cemetery with Pastor Billy Graff officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Springfield Boys and Girls Club.
