Jerry Wayne Lambdin was born March 2, 1946 at Cabool, Missouri. He was the youngest son of Bill and Elsie (Nichols) Lambdin. He passed away June 26, 2010 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Jerry grew up in the Elk Creek community and was a 1964 graduate of Cabool High School
On May 30, 1965 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Donna J. Roberts. To this union three children were born.
They made their home in Kansas City, Missouri, until 1970 when they moved to Davenport, Iowa, where they owned and operated a gas station and neighborhood grocery store. In March 1974 he joined the Davenport Police Department where he served 26 years before retiring in 1999 due to health problems. They moved to Jacksonville, Florida, to be near their three children and grandchildren.
He was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Middleberg, Florida.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Elsie Lambdin.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; two daughters, Sherry Stewert and husband Steve and Jodi Schmidt and husband Jeff, and one son, Greg, all of Jacksonville; a brother, Jim Lambdin and wife Mayne of Rogersville, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Megan, Alisian, Ryan and Mattie Lambdin, Taylor and Baylee Stewert, and Jacob and Logan Schmidt, all of Jacksonville; a nephew, William Lambdin; and several other relatives and friends.
At his request, Jerry was cremated and a memorial is planned at a later date.
