Leon Foster Dennis, 79, of Linn Valley, Kansas, and formerly of Cabool, Missouri, passed away peacefully March 7, 2011.
Leon was born in Norwood, Missouri, to Earl and Lois (Lucas) Dennis on February 18, 1932.
He was an avid hunter of pheasant. Every year he headed to western Kansas for his hunting trip. He retired from O’Neill Oldsmobile after 27 years of service.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lela Hardin.
Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Angilee of the home; one daughter, Charlotte Becker and husband John of Butler, Missouri; two sons, Edwin Dennis of the home and Terry Dennis and wife Shirley of Van Buren, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Tracy Parks, Roger Parks, Janet Wason and husband James, Teri Rae Taylor and husband John, Andrew Becker and wife Kameron, and Christopher Becker; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Wanda Hardy and husband Ed of Cabool, Missouri; two brothers, Wendell Dennis and wife Sharon and Randal Dennis and wife Jan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Coffel-Schneider Chapel, LaCygne, Kansas. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
