Lois Esther Brown

Lois Esther Brown, 88, of Willow Springs, Missouri passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010, at Willow Care Nursing Home.

She was born on December 15, 1921 near Twin Bridges, Missouri, the daughter of Earl and Isabell (Brower) Lovan.

Lois grew up in the Twin Bridges community and was united in marriage to Guy Thelmer Brown in 1938. To this union four children, Donnie, Dale, Lonnie and Patty, were born. She had a strong faith in her Lord, she raised her family attending Mt. Ararat Church and in later years she attended Blue Buck Full Gospel Church.

She was a very positive person and loved being with and taking care of her family. She never met a stranger and was quick to spread the word and love of the Lord. Lois also enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, canning, puzzle books and reading; especially the Bible. To put it simply, she loved life.

In later years Lois was united in marriage to Buster Collins.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Isabell Lovan; her first husband, Guy T. Brown; two sons, Lonnie and Dale Brown; her second husband, Buster Collins; and a brother, Paul Lovan.

She is survived by her daughter, Patty White and husband Jon of Willow Springs; her son, Donnie Lee of Willow Springs; seven grandchildren, Jackie Feldman and husband Richard of Cabool, Missouri, Carla Davis and husband Fred of Anchorage, Alaska, Lisa Cox and husband Jim of Willow Springs, April Hogan and husband Jason of Rogers, Arkansas, Dorothy Seay and husband Tim of Willow Springs, Ryan White and wife Stephanie of Springfield, Missouri, Tammie Rawlings of Lamar, Missouri, and Rance Brown and wife Stacy of Cabool; great-grandchildren Brandon Davis, Brian Schneider, Devin Seay, Lexi Hogan, Autumn Hogan, Aidrik White, Randon Brown, Spencer Brown, Dustin Ragsdale, Loni Jones, Brett Rawlings, Skyler Ragsdale, Tripp Jones and Olivia Jones; two sisters, Doris Mayberry and Lula Johnson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010, at First General Baptist Church in Willow Springs with Pastor Bill Miller officiating. Pallbearers are Richard Feldman, Ryan White, Jason Hogan, Jim Cox, Rance Brown and Dustin Ragsdale. Honorary pallbearers are Brett Rawlings and Randon Brown. Interment will be in Mt. Ararat Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool,.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Gideon’s.
