Melvin Harry “Wiggles” Johnson, Jr. of Houma, Louisiana, a native of Cabool, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010.
He was an employee of Global Industries for 20 years and was affectionately known as “Wiggles” by his co-workers.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Johnson Clark; his parents, Melvin H. Johnson, Sr. and Eva Marie Holmes Johnson; a brother, James Johnson; and a sister, Janet Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elodie “Sissie” Potter Johnson; a son, Richard M. Johnson; a son-in-law, David Clark; three grandsons, Aaron and Travis Clark and Ryan Harper; and one granddaughter, Chasity Johnson. All are of Houma, Louisiana. Also surviving are a sister, Joyce Dewitt and husband Frank of Washington, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Linda Johnson of Chillicothe, Illinois; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, in Chauvin Funeral Home, Houma, Louisiana, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
