Michael William “Butch” Maupin

Life celebration and memorial services were held Monday, February 7, 2011, for Michael William “Butch” Maupin, 52, at Maness Memorial Baptist Church in Cabool, Missouri, with his pastor, Terry Brown, officiating.

Having accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at age 13, Michael passed from this life on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri, following a short illness.

He was born February 26, 1958 in Wichita, Kansas, to William R. and Martha Lou Maupin. He was privileged to experience home life in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Minnesota before his family settled in Cabool, Missouri, when he was 14. Michael was a 1976 graduate of Cabool High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield.

His love and talent for cooking, a favorite hobby, opened many employment avenues, allowing him to continue in his travels as well as the opportunity to meet his wife, Joanne. They were married in the spring of 2000 and had one son, Jordan. In 2009, Michael and Jordan moved to Cabool, making it their home.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne, in 2008 and his father, William, in 1998.

Surviving are his son, Jordan Ray; his mother and stepfather, Martha Lou and Bob Floerchinger; his brothers, twin brother Patrick and wife Jennifer of Hollister, Missouri, Tom and wife Fran of Cabool, and David and wife Kandy of Salt Lake City, Utah; niece Amber Jerguigue and husband Jesse of Springfield, Missouri; nephew Elijah Maupin and wife Donna of Ogden, Utah; great-nieces Kaomi and Kaelyn Maupin and Sophia Jerguigue; great-nephews Tarik and Nicholas Jerguigue; as well as a multitude of extended family and wonderful friends.
