Nola Mae Proe, 69, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Kabul Nursing Home.
She was born on February 25, 1941 near Cabool, the daughter of Alvin and Myrtle (Briggs) Proe.
Nola attended Mtn. Grove High School, graduating with the class of 1959. She then attended SMSU at Springfield, Missouri, and received her teaching degree in 1962. She retired to the family farm northeast of Mtn. Grove after a 30-year teaching career. She enjoyed the farm animals and gardening, and was also active in church work and volunteered at the S.O.S Center in Cabool.
Nola was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Proe.
She is survived by one brother, Richard Proe of Waco, Texas. She was especially fond of her nieces and nephews, Frank Proe, Charles Proe, Lori Proe, Sara Shelley and Juli Alsadi; great-nephews and nieces, Noah, Caleb and Isaac Shelley, Elias Alsadi and Leah Shelley; as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Cabool First Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Marti officiating. Interment was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
