Alice Irene Williams, 67, of Cabool, Missouri, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2009, surrounded by her family at her home after fighting a courageous battle against cancer.
She was born on December 18, 1941 in Cabool, the daughter of the late Marion C. and Grace E. (Wall) Sweet.
Alice lived most of her life in Cabool. She was a licensed beautician, but only pursued that for a few years. She realized her calling for the health care field, becoming a licensed CNA and CMT. She was employed by Kabul Nursing Home where she worked until shortly before her death. She was a loving and compassionate worker who enriched many lives. Alice loved spending time with family and friends, gardening and playing all games. She was always happiest when helping others. She was a member of Lighthouse Church in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and attended regularly.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Grace Sweet; three sisters, Norma Conner, Marilynn Bovard and Carolyn Barnett; and one brother, John Sweet.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Frank of Crocker, Missouri; one brother, Warren Sweet of Cabool; and three sisters, Betty Heinemann of Westridge, Illinois, Barbara Alterman of Kansas City, Kansas, and Gerry Tune of Gladstone, Missouri. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Alice will be eulogized with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Greg Thompson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Community Hospice of Mtn. Grove.
