Dolores I. Hopple, 81, of Tiffin, Ohio, died Sunday evening, June 7, 2009, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born October 5, 1927 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Herbert R. and Bernice B. (Burks) Dawson.
She married Loyal Hopple on December 21, 1946 in Bloomville, Ohio. He died on August 1, 2005.
Mrs. Hopple attended St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ in Republic, Ohio, and was very active in her Bible study group at church. She was a member and secretary of Union Grange #1078 of Tiffin, member of Seneca Co. Pomona, Know Your Neighbor Club secretary, and member of Farm Bureau “Guys and Gals.” She was a homemaker and enjoyed doing her yard work, gardening, sewing, crocheting and quilting.
Survivors include two daughters, Dian and Jon Ewald of Tiffin and Viola Longwell of Cabool, Missouri; a son, Richard and Barbara Hopple of Tiffin; eight grandchildren, Holly and Derrick Szepiela of Genoa, Ohio, Laura and Chris Snyder of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Mary and Andrea Ewald and Jonathan and Kristinea Ewald of Tiffin, Travis and Anne Longwell of Cabool, Amy Longwell of Springfield, Missouri, and Craig Hopple and Kelly Hopple of Tiffin; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary and Andrew Szepiela, Nathan Snyder, Aiden Ewald, Logan Kepler, Joseph Ewald, and Ethan and Morgan Longwell; a brother, Daryl I. Dawson of Willard, Ohio; and three sisters, Reva and Eugene Mason of Tiffin and Opal Schubert and Alice and Robert Owens of Willard.
Funeral services were Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ with Rev. Mark Booster officiating. Burial was in Seneca Memorial Gardens, Tiffin.
