Faye Johnson Becker, 75, of Jefferson City, , died Thursday, December 25, 2008, at St. Mary’s Health Center.
She was born June 7, 1933 in Lamoni, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph E. and Edna I. Bradley Garland.
She was a 1951 graduate of Cabool High School, Cabool, Missouri.
She was united in marriage on August 12, 1951 to Lewis Johnson, who preceded her in death on December 1, 1981. She remarried on December 23, 1990 to John W. Becker, who survives at the home.
Faye worked for the Missouri Public Service Commission, owned and operated Paris Cleaners, and was an admissions assistant for Memorial Community Hospital. She was a member of First Christian Church, Beta Sigma Phi sorority where she was past president, and Cosmopolitan International where she was the first female club member and held many offices including district governor. She also enjoyed puzzles, cross stitch, watching TV, and Cardinals baseball.
She is also survived by four sons, Lewis W. Johnson, Jr. of Los Angeles, California, and Paul Johnson and wife Carol, Ron Johnson and wife Melissa, and David Johnson, all of Jefferson City; one daughter, Katie Rowling and husband Jim of Jefferson City; one stepson, John R. Becker of Jefferson City; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Keith Garland, and one sister, Marilyn Tiedeman.
Services were held Monday, December 29, 2008, at First Christian Church, Jefferson City, with Rev. Donald E. Carter officiating. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery.
