Frances Elizabeth McGuire, 84, of Springfield, Missouri, and formerly of Willow Springs, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at her home.
She was born on September 2, 1924 in Sarcoxie, Missouri, the daughter of Daniel A. and Lucy (Brower) Martin.
Frances was united in marriage to Lyle McGuire, and to this union eight children were born. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Lyle McGuire; daughters Phyllis Darlin McGuire, Linda Stoeber, Cora Moore and Mary Wilson; son Harold McGuire; three brothers, Henry Pringle, Daniel Martin and Jack Abbott; and one sister, Alice Stewart.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth McGhee of Rogersville, Missouri, and Phyllis Johnson of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; her son, Bill “Porter” McGuire of Willow Springs; 20 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Martin and Albert Martin; and three sisters, Mary Ellen Moore, Lena Mae Robertson and Leona Morris. She will be deeply missed and will be held in many hearts.
Graveside services were at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery in Pomona, Missouri, with Franklin Reagan officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool, Missouri.
