Mrs. Imogene Marguerite Starke, 88, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and formerly of Coal City and Wilmington, Illinois, passed away in her home with her daughter by her side on April 16, 2009.
She was born on February 12, 1921 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Violet (Thorneycroft) Hanlin.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael in 1986; her daughter, Charlotte Conner in 2006; and two brothers, Carl in 1977 and David in 1999.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Tipsword and husband Danny of Mtn. Grove; one son-in-law, Darwin Conner of Odell, Illinois; two granddaughters, Wenona Persic and husband Larry of Campus, Illinois, and Lexine Kirchner and husband Matt of Essex, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Natasha Sassenger and husband Christopher, Charisse Persic (Jeremy Sancken) of Dwight, Illinois, Sabrina Votta and husband Craig of Essex, Illinois, and Bryan Kirchner and wife Krystal of Watseka, Illinois; three great-great-grandchildren, Jonathon McPherson and Jacob Votta of Essex, Illinois, and Owynn Gliwa of Dwight, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Hanlin of Campus, Illinois; one niece, Shari Fritz of Bourbonnais, Illinois; and her constant companion, Barbie, her Yorkshire terrier.
Per her request, cremation was under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool, Missouri. Condolences may be sent to the family at 1104 N. Hovis, Mtn. Grove, MO 65711.
