Jeanne McAllister, 82, of Solomon, Kansas, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008. She was customer service representative for S.E.E.R. in Salina, Kansas.
Jean Carmack was born in Cardwell, Missouri, on September 19, 1926, the daughter of the late Riley J. and Sula Leona (Bazzell) Carmack. She graduated from high school from Cardwell.
She was married to Charles Raymond “Dick” McAllister. He died in 1994.
Jeanne lived in Cabool, Missouri, for 16 years. She was a Girl Scout leader and had worked at Kirkman’s Motel, Byron’s Market, Barbara’s Dress Shop, and the shoe factory.
Jeanne was a volunteer for DVAC in Salina and attended First Southern Baptist Church in Abilene, Kansas.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Wayne Cook of Solomon and Charla and Jim Pryor of Moore, Oklahoma; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Rhoda McAllister of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Jim and Madelene McAllister of Joplin, Missouri; a sister, Laverta Stewart of Paragould, Arkansas; her companion, Cecil Boileu of Salina; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Dwight “Red” Eubanks; two brothers, Clay Carmack and Van Carmack; and a great-grandson, Jacob Pryor.
At the family’s request there will be no visitation; cremation has taken place.
A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina.
Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the choice of the donor.
