Linda Lee (Pace) Kingston, 61, passed away Monday, February 2, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Linda was born in Marshall, Missouri, on November 27, 1947 to William and Flora (Tommie) Pace. She lived in Des Moines, Iowa, for several years before moving back to Missouri.
She was retired and enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and singing. Her family especially enjoyed receiving her homemade gifts as much as she enjoyed giving them. She had a natural talent for interior decorating and loved to help family members with decorating their homes. Her two grandsons, Kaleb and Kolby, were the apples of her eye.
Linda chose a Christian life. She felt if you embraced Christ, you could do wonderful things for all those around you. She loved the churches she attended, such as Panther Creek Church of the Brethren in Adel and Cabool Church of the Brethren in Cabool, Missouri. By her own examples, she showed how much love God has for all.
Linda is survived by her husband, Daniel Kingston of Norwood, Missouri; her son, Omar Alawadi of Des Moines; her daughter, Idah Newquist and husband Chuck of Des Moines; two grandsons, Kaleb and Kolby; three sisters, Lavonne Garrison, Billie Jean Skelton, and Debbie Richardson and husband Russ of Des Moines; a brother, Rodney Pace of Marshall; six nieces; six nephews; seven great-nieces; six great-nephews; and 16 great-great-nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at Cabool Church of the Brethren on Friday, February 13, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date.
