Reuel Christopher “Chub” Ragain

Reuel “Chub” Christopher Ragain, age 95, was born August 1, 1913 to James Lewis and Sophronia (Adams) Ragain in Upton, Missouri. He went to be with His Lord on February 20, 2009 at his home in Bucyrus, Missouri.

He was raised in the Upton community and lived all his life there farming and raising his family. He attended Pleasant Ridge School, Houston and Mtn. Grove high schools where he enjoyed playing basketball and football.

He was saved and baptized as a young man and attended Hickory Ridge Church where he enjoyed leading the singing and teaching a Sunday school class until his health no longer permitted.

He was united in marriage to Bernice Avis Baker on December 14, 1941. To this union five children were born.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by five children, Lonnie and wife Earlene of Gravois Mills, Missouri, Larrie and wife Peggy of Twin Falls, Idaho, Robert and wife Belinda of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Wanda Moore and husband Lynn of Cabool, Missouri, and Bonnie Ragain of the home; one sister, Velma Stottlemyre of Houston, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two special game-playing buddies, Jean and Mildred; and a host of friends and relatives.

He will be greatly missed by all.

Services were Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in Evans Funeral Home, Houston. Wesley Wallace officiated with burial in Hickory Ridge Cemetery.
