Ruby’s mother passed away when she was only four. Since she was one of the older children, she helped raise her brothers and sisters. Her father later married Meda Helton.

Ruby married Ernest Wilcox on on November 15, 1967 in Licking, Missouri. He passed away August 23, 1981.

She later married Leland Douglas on February 2, 1986. They made their home in the White Rock community of Texas County and in 1988 they moved to Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Carl, Marvin, Delbert and James Paul Krewson; one sister, Opal “Jo” McClanhan; and her first husband, Ernest.

She is survived by her husband, Leland Douglas of the home; two brothers, Dale Krewson and wife Joyce of Licking and Dean Krewson of Galt, California; two sisters, Daisy Layton of Crooked River Ranch, Oregon, and Donna Gibbons of Vista, California; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends made throughout the years.

Ruby moved to California in the ’40s during World War II. She became an inspector of large aircraft at one of the California production plants. After this job, she was involved in the banking business in California for several years. When she moved back to Houston, she worked at the Bank of Houston until she retired.

Ruby loved her home and was a wonderful cook and homemaker.

Ruby received Jesus as her Savior later in life. She was a wonderful Christian lady and never tired of talking about her Lord. She confessed Him as her Savior, Comforter, Guide and Friend. She knew He loved her and she wanted to share His love with others. She enjoyed working in the church. She and Leland also would go to Houston House every Tuesday and have a Bible reading and study with the residents there.

Ruby was a lady with a smile and an encouraging word.
