Russell Lynn Miller, the son of Albert and Alta Mae Pfau Miller, was born December 25, 1915. He passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at 4:50 a.m. in Ash Grove Health Care Center, Ash Grove, Missouri. His age was 92 years, nine months and 20 days.
Russell was born in Arvada, Colorado, and was a longtime resident of the Cabool and Houston, Missouri, area before moving to Ash Grove in 1996. He was a retired farmer and employee of the Missouri State Highway Department in the carpentry special crew. He was a member of Ash Grove Assembly of God Church.
Russell and Vera Faye Bennett were united in marriage on September 29, 1940. To this union five children were born. Together they were privileged to share over 66 years.
Vera preceded him in death on June 13, 2007. Also preceding him were his parents; three brothers, Dick, Jim and Loren; and four sisters, Billie, Marjorie, Pat and Joann.
He is survived by four sons, Gary L. and Kay Miller of Neosho, Missouri, Lonnie and Debbie Miller of Savannah, Georgia, Tim and Brenda Miller of Rolla, Missouri, and Don and Vicki Miller of Ash Grove; one daughter, Brenda and Arvel Schweighauser of Summersville, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack and Marion Miller of Arvada, Colorado.
Services were held Thursday, October 16, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in Wilson Brim Daniel Chapel, Ash Grove, with Revs. Don Miller and Arvel Schweighauser officiating, and graveside services at 3:00 p.m. in New Hope Cemetery, Solo, Missouri.
