Venetia Ault Brandes of Ozark, Missouri, passed away at The Baptist Home nursing home in Ozark at 11:30 a.m. January 2, 2009, at the age of 95 years and 28 days.
She was born December 3, 1913 in Springfield, Missouri, to Elvis Buffington and Anna Pollard Buffington. She lived in Springfield in her youth and again many years after her retirement.
While caring for her mother, Venetia was a member of Glenstone Baptist Church and was very active in the Women’s Auxiliary.
She was a licensed cosmetologist and color specialist in Kansas City and Cabool, Missouri, and was a member of Missouri Cosmetologist Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Laurance Brandes of Kansas City, Missouri; and two sisters, Velma Rhoades of Springfield and Edna Pummill of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She is suvived by her son, Larry Dean Ault; four grandchildren, David Ault of Post Falls, Idaho, Tia Ault McInerney and husband Ronald of Spokane, Washington, Rick Autl of Seattle, Washington, and Dawn Ault Rose of Portland, Oregon; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephew and cousins.
Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Walnut Lawn Degraffenreid Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Ward of Glenstone Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
