Viola Fern Harmon, 83, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away June 5, 2009.
Fern was born October 31, 1925 in Stultz, Missouri, near Cabool, to James and Annis Brewer Miller.
She was a school teacher, cafeteria cook and manager, and most importantly a loving and caring homemaker, dedicated to her family. Fern was a member of Grace Point Baptist Church and greatly enjoyed bluegrass music.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis Harmon, in 2004; two brothers, Robert and Jesse Miller; and a sister, Hazel Hill.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her children and their spouses, Jim and Freddie Harmon, Paul and Sharon Harmon, Danny and Judy Harmon, Marrion and Greg Mangum, Maribeth Henson; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Smith and Fern Miller; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Park Lawn Chapel in Kansas City with entombment to follow.
The family suggests contributions to Grace Point Baptist Church.
