Kenneth Paul Brown, 68, of Cabool, Missouri, departed this life on July 25, 2008 at his home.
He was born on June 11, 1940 in Winterset, Iowa, the son of Eugene Paul and Esther Mae (Douglas) Brown.
Ken grew up and attended school in Patterson, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Shirley Rustan in 1964, and to this union two daughters were born, Tammy and Michelle. He lived much of his life in the Winterset area and worked in high rise construction in Des Moines, Iowa.
In 1990, Ken was united in marriage to Penny Poe Naumann. They moved to Missouri in March of 2005.
Ken accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized on May 26, 2007. He was a member of Cabool Christian Church.
Ken was an avid baseball fan. He played and coached baseball and softball through much of his life. The Chicago Cubs were Ken’s favorite team. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He had a talent for storytelling that endeared him to his many friends. He will truly be missed by many.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Penny of Cabool; his daughters, Tammy Brown of Truro, Iowa, and Michelle Tish and husband Wes of Carlisle, Iowa; a stepson, Wade Naumann of Charleston, South Carolina; three granddaughters, Shawna Brown, Rachel and Maggie Tish; four step-grandchildren, Joe, Naomi, Tommy and Robert Neumann; three brothers, Jim Brown and wife Christy of Des Moines, Iowa, Bob Brown and wife Diana and Ron Brown of Patterson, Iowa; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Cabool Christian Church with Bro. Bob Martin officiating. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held in Patterson, Iowa, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Cabool Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
