Adam Huel Robertson, 78, son of Glen and Martha (Haliburton) Robertson, was born August 26, 1932 at Bendavis, Missouri. He died Sunday, November 21, 2010, at his home in Houston, Missouri.
Huel was raised at Bendavis and attended Dunsnore and Alice schools before going to Mountain Grove High School, graduating in 1950.
He accepted Jesus Christ at a young age.
He met Gloria June Gettys February 22, 1951 and was married April 5, 1952 at Hardy, Arkansas. To this union there were four children.
Huel joined the Air Force in May of 1952 and honorably served his country at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lonnie Robertson and Ralph Robertson.
Huel, as he was known by most, loved his wife Gloria of 58 years, going fishing, hunting and working on their farm just east of Houston.
He worked at International Shoe in Houston and Mid-America Dairymen at Cabool, Missouri, until his retirement on September 30, 1994.
Huel is survived by his wife, Gloria of the home in Houston; one daughter, Barbara Holaday and husband Gary of Bucyrus, Missouri; three sons, Mike Robertson and wife Donna of Bendavis, Randy Robertson and wife Chris of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Glen Robertson and wife Holly of Houston; eight grandchildren, Phillip Curry and Andrea Curry of Houston, Sarah Shelton of Graff, Missouri, Cody, Cassidy and Tara Robertson of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Cassidy and Cade Robertson of Houston; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Curry of Houston and Henry and Ella Shelton of Graff; three sisters, Huan Campbell of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Glenet Quinn of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Alice McCall of Cabool; three brothers, Austin Robertson of Columbia, Missouri, Billy Robertson of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Rupert Robertson of Bendavis; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was a wonderful, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday November 26, 2010, at Evans Funeral Home in Houston. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Dowden officiating. Pallbearers are Scott Gettys, John Gettys, Phillip Curry, Cody Robertson, Bill Schafer and Mike Best. Burial with full military honors will follow at Ozark Cemetery.
