David Bruce Sutton, 84, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Gassville Nursing Home in Gassville, Arkansas.
He was born on April 16, 1927 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the son of Clyde M. and Bessie A. (McDonald) Sutton.
David grew up in the Kansas City area and enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 21, 1952, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He received his honorable discharge on July 26, 1965 and moved to Osceola, Missouri, for a few years. He then moved to Tennessee before settling in Cabool in the late 1970s. He worked for a number of years at Midwest Walnut in Willow Springs, Missouri.
He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Houston, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing and reading, but especially loved photography.
David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Thorpe.
He is survived by a brother, Dr. Frank Bowers and wife Donna of Mtn. Home, Arkansas. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Graveside services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri, with Pastor David Kettner officiating. Interment with full military honors was in Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
