Delbert I. Hinkelman

Delbert I. Hinkelman, 70, son of Irvan and Esther (Richard) Hinkelman, was born on May 24, 1943 in Illinois. He passed away at his home on April 4, 2014 in Licking, MO.

He was united in marriage to Bonnie Garrett of Cabool on March 30, 1990 in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson Danny Garrett. He is survived by two sons, Kirk of Columbia and Daniel of St. Louis, MO, one stepson Bobby Garrett and Dena; two step-daughters: Janice and John Shanks, Debbie and Kenny Gaston, and one daughter-in-law Starla Garrett all of Licking, MO; two sisters, Jan Hinkelman and Joyce Wulff both of Illinois, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Delbert served in the US Marines from Jan. 1962 through Jan 1965. He was a lifetime member of the Marine Corp League in West Plains, MO and lifetime member of the American Legion in Houston, MO.

He was a licensed farrier and enjoyed the many years that he worked
with horses. Delbert enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service was Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in Boone Creek Cemetery, Licking. Elder Standley officiated. Pallbearers were Jeremy Womack, Jamie Womack, John Shanks, Tom Grisham, Eric Garnett and Edward McElwee.

Full military honors were provided by active duty Marine Corps soldiers from Fort Leonard Wood. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
