Doyle Wake

Graveside services for Almo J. “Doyle” Wake, 73, Willow Springs, Missouri, were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Wake died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at his home.

He was born July 18, 1938, at Willow Springs, Missouri, to Manuel and Rosie Collins Wake. On March 8, 1976, he was married to Linda Thornton at Cabool, Missouri.

Mr. Wake was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He worked as a machinist in the gun and pawn shop industry and was a business owner. He loved bluegrass music and enjoyed playing with many groups at benefits. He was a hero to his wife, children, grandchildren and brothers and will be missed. He was of the Protestant faith.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Wake, of the family home; seven children, Randy Wake and wife Mary of Peoria, Arizona, Brian Hoyle and wife Jeannie of West Plains, Missouri, Tilithia Labadie and husband Kenny of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Brian Wake and wife Patty of Youngstown, Arizona, Matthew Wake of Willow Springs, Missouri, Marvin Wake and wife Carolyn of Pomona, Missouri, and Richard Sawyer and wife Martha of Pasadena, Texas; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Ernest Wake and wife Mabel, Lonnie Wake, Dale Wake, Leroy Wake and wife Joan, and Jim Wake and wife Jeannie, all of Cabool, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents; two sisters, Julie Moore and Berniece Wake; and one brother, Steven Wake, preceded him in death.
