Dwight Vincent Elwood

Dwight Vincent Elwood, 80, Lake Butler, Florida, passed away December 30, 2010 at his home following an extended illness.

He was born in Dunlap, Iowa, the son of the late Kenneth E. Elwood and Anna A. Smith Elwood.

He was in the construction and power line business for many years. He had lived in Lake Butler since 1996. He attended Grace Fellowship Church in Lake Butler and was a member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Peeples, and a grandson, Eddie Peeples.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Linn Adams Elwood; a daughter, Laura E. Kemp of Lake Butler; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Ann Daniels of Marshall, Arkansas; a son, Larry Elwood of Mason City, Iowa; three stepsons, Darrell Lancaster of Lake Butler, Joseph Townsend of Grandberry, Texas, and Keith Lancaster of Mountain Grove, Missouri; three brothers, Charles Elwood of Cabool, Missouri, Elvin Elwood of Ozark, Missouri, and Bob Elwood of Jonesboro, Arkansas; a sister, Susan Jarrett of Cabool; 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held January 3, 2011 at Archer Funeral Home in Lake Butler with Rev. Terry Ellixson officiating. Burial followed in Elzey Chapel Cemetery.
