Edwin Alexander MacAslan, 92, of Willow Springs, Missouri, passed away at his home Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 12:15 a.m.
Edwin was born on August 8, 1919 in Bruce, Wisconsin, the son of David and Murriel (Sprague) MacAslan.
He was married to Kathryn Louise Klinge in Topeka, Kansas, on May 25, 1944. She passed away February 6, 2010.
On December 29, 2010 he married B. Naomi Wisdom in Willow Springs.
Mr. MacAslan was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He served during World War II in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 to 1946. He flew B-24’s and had 35 combat missions over Europe during that time. He retired from Cummins Engine Company after 34 years of service in 1990. He also farmed during his careers.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Naomi; three sons, Russell W. (Sandra) MacAslan, David F. Caslan and Chris A. (Nancy) MacAslan; a daughter, Bobby (Jerry York) Gray; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Jewel Wagner.
His parents; his first wife; a son, Ronald MacAslan; and a sister, Helen Piper, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were February 15, 2012 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dudleytown, Indiana, with Rev. Michael Malinsky and Rev. Scott Kozisek officiating. Burial was in Emanuel Church Cemetery.
