Glenn Albert Woolard, 81, of Willow Springs, Missouri, passed away on November 18, 2009 at his home.
He was born on July 8, 1928 at Dora, Missouri, the oldest of the eleven children of Henry and Goldie (Smith) Woolard.
Glenn was united in marriage to Elvena Davis on March 3, 1951, and to this union four children were born. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and received his honorable discharge on February 1, 1955. He enjoyed working on his farm and the time he spent as a logger. He dedicated his life to his family and enjoyed all the time that he was able to spend with them.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Woolard and Goldie Woolard Elliott; his wife of 52 years, Elvena on December 25, 2003; his infant twins; two brothers; and four sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Debria Woolard and Vina Kaye Harris and husband Stanley, all of Jefferson City, Missouri; brothers John Woolard of Cabool, Missouri, and Henry Woolard of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; sisters Betty Nickell of California and Beverly Friend; as well as numerous friends that will dearly miss him.
Graveside services were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Flat Rock Cemetery with Rev. Doug Brower officiating. Interment with full military honors was under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to Flat Rock Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
