Grayston J. Anderson of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday March 31, 2010, at Twin Lakes Nursing Center in Flippin, Arkansas, after a short illness. He was 87 years old. Services will be private.
Grayston was born at Sparta, Missouri, to Charlie H. and Beatrice Johnson Anderson.
He married Marilyn Jane Eakins on October 2, 1946.
Grayston was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as an over-the-road trucker and plumber before retiring to Arkansas from Cabool, Missouri, in the late 1980s to be near family and fishing. Grayston loved to stay home and work in his garden.
He is survived by his wife, Jane, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas; two daughters, Vicki Monte (Steve) of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, and Amy Johnson of Anna, Illinois; one sister, Laura Ineze Hughes of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Stephen Monte (Elizabeth) of Flippin, Arkansas, Victoria Monte Disalvo (Tim) of Memphis, Tennessee, Gail Rachels Weakley (Johnny) of Memphis, Tennessee, and Abby Jane Johnson, of Bloomington, Illinois; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Memorials may be made to Twin Lakes Nursing Center, 6152 Hwy. 202 E., Flippin, AR 72634. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services of Mtn. Home, Arkansas.
