Guy Stephen Miller, Jr., 85, was born January 27, 1925 in Helena, Missouri, to Guy S. Miller, Sr. and Bessie (Humphrey) Miller. He died May 27, 2010 at his home in Cabool, Missouri.
He married Ina J. Smith on July 11, 1946.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold Miller; one sister, Viola Rowe; and one daughter, Ruth Ann Leggett.
He is survived by his wife, Ina of the home; three sons, Steven Miller and wife Angie of Stevenson, Washington, James Miller of Cabool, and Paul Miller and wife Kay of Licking, Missouri; one daughter, Robin Calvin and husband Bill of Bucyrus, Missouri; four grandsons; seven granddaughters; seven great-grandsons; 15 great-granddaughters; one great-great-grandson; eight step great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Ethelyn Heckel of Hiawatha, Kansas.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Savannah, Missouri.
He was raised as a young child by his Aunt Nellie after the death of his mother. He was a veteran of World War II where he fought in the South Pacific. He joined the Navy and was transferred to the Marines, and served as a medical corpsman the rest of the war.
He farmed after the war in the Flag Springs and Forest City areas. He moved to Oregon and worked in the lumber industry. Guy and his family moved back to Missouri. He worked at Farmland Industries until he retired in 1986. He and Ina then moved to the Houston area. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Services were Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in Evans Funeral Home, Houston, Missouri. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Miller, James Miller, Steven Miller, Leroy Leggett, Byron Leggett and William Smith.
