Robert Harold Crayon

Robert Harold Crayon was born in Queens, New York, on July 6, 1935. He was the eldest of three children of Simon and Anne (Stubenhaus) Crayon. He passed away at his home in Cabool, Missouri, at the age of 77 on Wednesday, November 21, 2012.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Patricia (Collins), and by his sister, Elaine Casaula.

He is survived by his wife, LaVerne (DePaul); his brother, Daniel; and his nine children with Patricia, Eileen Vesseliza and husband Gerard of Ranshaw, Pennsylvania, Michael Crayon of Hollywood, Florida, John Crayon and wife Virginia of Orange Park, Florida, Timothy Crayon of Leavenworth, Kansas, Elizabeth Hillier and husband Whitman of Stanhope, New Jersey, Joseph Crayon and wife Theresa of Kansas City, Missouri, Denis Crayon of Hackettstown, New Jersey, William Crayon and wife Paula of Melville, New York, and Matthew Crayon and wife MyDung Thi of Nixa, Missouri; seven stepchildren; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bob spent his career in public service. He was a retired New York City Police Lieutenant and served in both the Army and Navy reserves. He was active with his local church community with Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

After his retirement from the New York City Police Department in 1983, the family relocated to Norwood, Missouri, and in 1998 moved to his home in Cabool.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mtn. Grove with Father Sherman Wall officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
